Automation
As part of a critical infrastructure enhancement initiative, we successfully executed the installation of a comprehensive leak detection system for the chilled water network running through the Doha Metro Green Line underground tunnels. This project was designed to ensure early detection of water leaks, protect vital assets, and maintain uninterrupted HVAC performance across the transit corridor.
1. System installation
• Installation of digital leak detection panels across metro stations and remote utility structures to enable real-time monitoring and alarm integration.
• Deployment of approximately 20,000 meters of leak detection sensing cable along critical sections of underground tunnels, ensuring comprehensive chilled water pipeline surveillance and early fault localization.
2. Cable Laying & Sensor Deployment
• Laid specialized water sensing cables along chilled water pipelines, valve chambers, and low-point drainage areas
• Secured cables using industrial-grade adhesive clips and protective conduits to withstand tunnel conditions
• Ensured full coverage of high-risk zones for early-stage leak detection
3. Panel Installation
• Installed digital leak detection panels with local and remote alarm capabilities
• Ready to Integrate panels with the tunnel’s Building Management System (BMS) for centralized monitoring
• Ready to Configured sector-based alerts for rapid fault localization and response
• Enabled real-time leak detection across critical chilled water infrastructure
• Minimized risk of tunnel flooding, equipment damage, and service disruption
• Delivered a resilient, low-maintenance monitoring system aligned with metro safety and operational standards
