Project Description:

As part of a critical electrical infrastructure enhancement at the Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Treatment Plants within Dukhan Air Base, we successfully executed the modification of existing busbar systems and the installation of ABB main isolators to improve operational safety, load management, and system maintainability.

Project Scope of Work:

1. Busbar System Modification

• Assessed the existing low-voltage distribution layout to identify bottlenecks and safety risks

• Redesigned and reconfigured busbar arrangements to support improved current distribution and future scalability

• Carried out precision fabrication and installation of busbar extensions, supports, and insulation barriers in compliance with IEC standards

2. ABB Main Isolator Supply & Installation

• Supplied and installed ABB-certified main isolators to provide secure disconnection points for maintenance and emergency shutdowns

• Integrated isolators with the modified busbar system, ensuring proper alignment, torque settings, and arc flash protection

• Verified mechanical interlocks and labeling for safe and intuitive operation

3. Testing, Commissioning & Documentation

• Conducted insulation resistance tests, continuity checks, and functional verification of isolator operation

• Ensured compliance with Qatar Energy and QAF safety protocols

• Delivered as-built drawings, test reports, and O&M documentation for client records
