Energy
As part of the North Field Production Sustainability (NFPS) initiative, we successfully executed a series of critical control system upgrades and commissioning activities across multiple offshore oil and gas platforms operated by Qatar Energy. The project focused on enhancing automation, safety, and operational continuity through the integration of navigation, helideck, and power systems with the Distributed Control System (DCS) for unmanned operation readiness.
1. NAVAID System Troubleshooting & Commissioning
• Diagnosed and resolved faults in the Navigation Aid (NAVAID) systems, including obstruction lights, foghorns, and beacons
• Verified signal integrity and synchronization with platform control logic
• Conducted integration testing with the DCS to enable remote monitoring and automated operation
2. Helideck Control System Commissioning
• Troubleshot and recommissioned helideck lighting, status indicators, and wind direction systems
• Ensured compliance with ICAO and CAP 437 standards for offshore helideck safety
• Integrated helideck systems with the DCS for centralized control and alarm management
3. Battery System Testing & Commissioning
• Performed capacity testing, discharge profiling, and redundancy validation of DC backup systems
• Verified charger performance, battery bank health, and failover response
• Ensured uninterrupted power supply to critical systems during blackout scenarios
🛠️ Integration & Automation Highlights
• Seamless DCS integration across all subsystems for unmanned platform operation
• Enhanced system diagnostics, alarm visibility, and remote control capabilities
• Reduced manual intervention and improved safety through automation
• Delivered fully commissioned and integrated systems across multiple offshore rigs
• Enabled Qatar Energy to transition key platforms to unmanned operational mode
• Strengthened platform safety, reliability, and compliance with offshore standards
