ELV
As part of our integrated building services portfolio, we successfully completed the design, fabrication, supply, installation, and commissioning of a custom-built interface panel to link the Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) air-conditioning system with the fire alarm system at the prestigious Golf Course Building on Gewan Island, Qatar.
🎯 Project Objective
To ensure seamless communication between the HVAC and fire safety systems, enabling automatic shutdown of the VRF units during fire events—enhancing occupant safety and compliance with Qatar Civil Defence regulations.
1. Engineering Design & Compliance
• Developed a tailored interface logic to meet both HVAC control requirements and fire alarm response protocols
• Ensured full alignment with QCD (Qatar Civil Defence) standards and NFPA guidelines
2. Fabrication of Interface Panel
• Custom-built panel with relays, terminal blocks, and control modules
• Designed for durability, ease of maintenance, and future scalability
3. Supply & Installation
• Delivered and installed the panel on-site with minimal disruption to ongoing operations
• Integrated with both the VRF indoor/outdoor units and the fire alarm control panel (FACP)
4. Testing & Commissioning
• Conducted functional testing for signal integrity, fail-safe operation, and system response time
• Verified automatic shutdown of VRF units upon fire alarm activation
• Provided full documentation and operator training
• Achieved full interoperability between HVAC and fire safety systems
• Enhanced life safety measures through automated emergency response
• Delivered a compliant, future-ready solution tailored to the building’s operational needs
